If an issue occurs during the install, when trying to lay down the Sentinel Run-Time Environment Installer, please cancel the install and install Sentinel directly from the link below. Use the Sentinel HASP/LDK - Windows GUI Run-time Installer. Once this has completed, run the DesignCalcs install again:

New Features

  • The rated flange reference B16.5 2017 has been added to the software. Currently, this cannot be accessed in the Rated flange form as Table U-3 from ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and Table 1.1 from ASME Section VIII, Division 2 still reference the 2013 version of B16.5. However, the new year is present in the material browsers and the custom material form. In addition, the user can now access the NPS 22 flanges that were introduced in the 2017 edition. DC-3734

  • The rated flange weight calculation is now more accurate. Before it was assumed to be carbon steel material, now a geometry calculation is performed to calculate the volume of the flange based on shape and assuming a small raised face (add some weight). This volume is now calculated by multiplying the volume with the density of the material selected. The changes are reflected in the Summary report. DC-3734

  • Since the Rated Flange weight is not calculated from the dimensions and the density, as opposed to being a value assigned to the flange, the Metric dimensions are now native from B16.5 and B16.47 references instead of being converted from Customary. DC-3734

 

Issues Resolved

  • Studded outlets in heads would sometime use the wrong host information. For example, a studded outlet in head 2 might use the information from head 1. This issue has been resolved and you may see your results change after applying this update. DC-5267

  • Some Blind Series A and B and Weld Neck Series A and B flanges were reporting zero weight on the summary report. This has now been resolved and their weight is based on the calculation described in the new features above. DC-3734
