New Features

  • 2019 code changes will start to be rolled out over the next several releases.  The 2017 materials have been copied and treated as 2019 during this time.  DC-3605
  • The material changes per Section VIII, Division 1 for the 2019 code are now implemented.  DC-3554
    • SA/GB 713 Grade Q345R is now MDMT curve B instead of A
    • SA-105 is now MDMT curve A instead of B
    • SA-213 S31254, SA-240 S32003, SA-789 S32003, SA-790 S32003, SA/EN 10028-7 X2CrNi18-9, SA/EN 10028-7 X2CrNiMo17-12-2, SA/EN 10028-7 X2CrNiMoN17-11-2, SA/EN 10028-7 X2CrNiMoN17-11-3, SA/EN 10028-7 X2CrNiN18-10, SA/EN 10028-7 X5CrNiN19-9, SA/EN 10028-7 X6CrNiTi18-10 were added to Table UHA-23
    • SB-111 C70620, SB-111 C71520, SB-171 C70620, SB-171 C71520, SB-283 C70620, SB-283 C71520, SB-359 C70620, SB-359 C71520, SB-395 C70620, SB-395 C71520, SB-466 C70620, SB-466 C71520, SB-467 C70620, SB-543 C70620, SB-543 C71520, SB-956 C70620, SB-956 C71520, SB-148 C95820 were added to Table UNF-23.2

    • SA-553 III was added to Table UHT-23

  • The WRC 107 analysis now supports doing a membrane only check along side the combined stress check.  The user will have the option to perform a combined check only or to check the combined stresses (local membrane plus secondary bending) and the membrane stresses by themselves.  Each combination has it's own set of allowable stresses the user can set.  New WRC 107 analyses will be set to check both the membrane and membrane plus bending; but older ones will be patched to just check the combined stresses (though the user can change the setting on those older ones to check both combinations).  The allowable stress basis is now set by the user on a new tab called Allowable Stresses.  The user will no longer get a warning when setting the combined stress yield multiplier to greater than 1.  Any multiplier warnings now occur when saving and closing the form.  DC-3539
  • Lifting lugs are now drawn in the 3D graphics.  For vertical vessels, the distance from reference line has changed to be Reference Distance is now relative to the lifting lug host.  There was not easy to apply logic as to how to make this change for all of our customers, so you will see this in the 3D drawn lower than expected in most cases and will need to make the change manually.  DC-3481

Issues Resolved

  • In the 2019.6 release, an error was fixed in DesignCalcs that allowed certain fields to input unicode characters even though unicode was not yet supported.  In addition, when attempting to patch the vessel file, the software became more conservative to not allow corrupted fields (due to unicode issue) to be patched.  That was DC-3356.  Now, the software will repair those fields that are corrupted to allow the file to salvaged.  This may result in files missing some data however, as the corrupted files are cleared.  Before a file is patched, it will be copied into a backup file, then the file will be repaired if necessary and finally patched.  DC-3813
  • An issue was resolved with the material viewer that allowed the stress table portion at the bottom to block some of the notes and Rated Flange Material Group information in the middle of the screen.  DC-3750
  • An issue was resolved with the material viewers and browsers where the ASME B16.47 2017 rating information was not an option.  DC-3718
  • An issue was resolved with the 3D drawing of Type I saddles with rings in the plane of the saddle.  Before the rings at each saddle, were both drawing to one side of their saddles, now they are both drawn in line with the web plate of the saddle.  DC-3654
  • And issue was resolved with the 3D drawing of of Type II saddles with rings adjacent to the saddle.  Now they are equally spaced around the web of the of the saddle when before they were not.  DC-3594
