WPS - Welding Procedure Specification
This section has information on WPSs or Welding Performance Specifications (AKA Spec, Procedure, Procedure Spec).
WPSs can be thought of as "what a company can do" in terms of welding. In ProWrite S9 WPSs are made from 1 or more PQRs (Performance Qualification Records). A PQR with multiple Processes can be used to create a single Process WPS or Processes from multiple PQRs can be selectively combined to create a single WPS. In ProWrite D1.1 WPSs can be made from PQRs or as stand alone Pre-Qualified or qualified by Code documents.
WPSs can support from one to three CEI Processes with a "CEI Process" being a combination of process value (e.g. GTAW, GMAW, etc.) and process variables (e.g., Shielding Gas, Bead Type, etc.).

Note: When a WPS is created from a PQR the WPSs values are set at that moment of creation from a snapshot of the information on that PQR. There is not an ongoing relationship between the documents. This is important because changes such as BaseMetal/P# on a WPS would require modification of the PQR and then the creation of a new WPS from that PQR.
