Studded outlets in DesignCalcs, also known as pad flanges, are a type of opening in other components. The supported configurations are Figure UG-40 Sketches (a-1) and (a-2), also seen as Figure UW-16.1 Sketches (p-1) and (p-2).  The supported host types are a cylinder (shell), hemispherical head, ellipsoidal head and torispherical head (ASME F&D).  The studded outlet methodology comes from the following Section VIII, Division 1 paragraphs:

  • UG-40 (Limits of Reinforcement)
  • UG-41 (Weld Path Strength)
  • UW-15 (Weld Unit Strength)
