AWS PQR - Test Results

Guided Bend

There are four rows for bend tests. The second and fourth bend type populate when the first and third are selected.

Specimen No.: Enter the specimen number.

Type of Bend: Select the type of bend test performed during the qualification of the test coupon.

Result: Enter the result of the selected test.

Remarks: Enter any comments about the bend test.

Tensile

The report will expand dynamically to accommodate up to 45 test results entered in the grid.

Tensile test type: Choose the type of tensile test performed.

Specimen: Describe the specimen for this test.

Width: For reduced section tests, enter the width of the test specimen as defined in QW-462.

Thickness: For reduced section tests, enter the thickness of the test specimen as defined in QW-462.

Diameter: For turned specimen tests, enter the diameter of the test specimen.

Area: This field is calculated and not normally changed. However, the user can change this value to match that provided by a testing laboratory.

Load: Enter the load of this specimen.

Ultimate stress: Enter the stress of this specimen.

Failure type and location: Enter the location where the coupon failed and the type of failure experienced.

Toughness

The report will expand dynamically to accommodate up to 45 test results entered in the grid.

Specimen: Describe the specimen for this test.

Location: Select the location of the failure. The impact test specimen, notch location, and orientation shall be as given in the section requiring such tests.

Notch Type: Select the notch type.

Test Temp: Enter the test temperature.

Impact Value: A measure of the energy absorbed during the fracture of a specimen.

Shear %: The percentage of the total specimen area fractured in shear mode (rather than cleavage mode).

mils/mm: Enter the lateral expansion. This is a measure of the ductility of a steel as a result of the impact testing specimen examination.

Drop Weight Break: Select Yes if the specimen broke, No if it did not break, or - (a dash) if a drop weight break test was not performed.

Hardness

Hardness test type: Select the type of hardness test performed.

Location: Enter the location the test was conducted on the coupon.

Readings: Enter up to nine readings on this line.

Fillet

Minimum Size Multipass Fillet Weld - Macroetch: Enter the results of the minimum size multiple-pass macroetch examination. Testing is required for the minimum size multiple-pass fillet weld used in construction

Maximum Size Single Pass Fillet Weld - Macroetch: Enter the results of the maximum size single-pass macroetch examination. Testing is required for the maximum size single-pass fillet weld used in construction.

Other Tests

Macroetch Results: Enter the results of the macroetch examination.

RT Report No.: Enter the report number of the RT results. For qualification, the results must conform to the requirements of Clause 6, Part C.

Result: Enter the RT results.

UT Report No.: Enter the report number of the UT results. For qualification, the results must conform to the requirements of Clause 6, Part C.

Result: Enter the UT results.

Corner Macroetch: Indicate the test results when a corner macroetch test joint is welded.

All-Weld-Metal Tension Test

Tensile Strength: Enter the tensile strength of the base metal. This field will be automatically completed if the material is selected from the Material Browser.

Yield Point/Strength: Enter the yield point of the specimen.

Elongation in 2 in., %: Enter the percentage of elongation.

Laboratory Test No.: Enter the number of the lab test.

Visual/Notes

Appearance: Indicate whether the PQR met the visual inspection.

Undercut: Indicate whether the undercut values are acceptable.

Piping Porosity: Indicate whether the piping porosity met the visual inspection.

Concavity: Enter the maximum distance from the face of a concave fillet weld perpendicular to a line joining the weld toes.

Inspected by: Enter the name of the person who performed the inspection.

Date: Enter the date of the inspection.

Notes: Enter notes about additional tests to include with this PQR.

Signature Block

Prepared By: Enter the name of the document preparer and select an electronic signature. Once one or more signatures have been added to the document, the data cannot be changed until the signatures are removed.

Title: Enter the job title of the preparer.

Witnessed by: Enter the name and title of the representative that witnessed the test. The label for this field can be changed in the PQR defaults found in Tools > Defaults > PQR/WPS.

Tests conducted by: Enter the name of the company that performed the laboratory test.

Laboratory test number: Enter the number of the lab test.

Welder's name: Enter the name of the welder that qualified the procedures. If a welder is selected from the Welders Log, the name, ID number, and stamp number will be inserted into the appropriate fields. Manually entering awelder in this field does not add that information to the database.

Welder ID: Enter the ID number of the welder that welded the PQR coupon.

Stamp: Enter the stamp number of the welder that welded the PQR coupon.
