AWS Multi Code Ship Boat Building
ProWrite is to implement various codes for the construction of ships and other marine vessels allowing users the ability to enter, store and access their welding documents as well as their welders from within ProWrite Welding Software. The codes included are developed by The American Welding Society and named as AWS D3.5, AWS D3.7 and AWS C2.18.
AWS D3.5 provides information to users in the marine construction industry as to the best practical methods to weld steel hulls for ships and other marine vessels. Information such as the selection and weldability of steel plates, shapes, castings, and forgings is included. Guidelines for the qualification of procedures and personnel as well as inspection methods are also presented within this code.
AWS D3.7 provides information to users in the marine construction industry as to the best practical methods to weld aluminum hulls for ships and other marine vessels. Information such as the selection and weldability of aluminum plates, shapes, castings, and forgings is included. Guidelines for the qualification of procedures and personnel as well as inspection methods are also presented within this code.
AWS C2.18 presents information for the application of thermal spray coatings (TSC) as a method for the protection of steel using TSCs of aluminum, zinc and their alloys as well as various composites. It covers safety, selection of TSCs, operator qualification, application process methods, quality control methods and the maintenance and repair of TSCs.
