FormPro User Interface
The FormPro UI is designed to provide access to all available forms in the tree while emulating paper forms with the input panel.
Main Toolbar
The main toolbar provides access to the bulk of FormPro's functionality. Create, edit, and delete forms, adjust your workspace and default settings, import data from DesignCalcs, and create reports within the various menus.
File: The file menu contains file controls (e.g., new, open, save) and DesignCalcs import. File properties may also be accessed from this menu.
Edit: Copy and paste actions can be taken from the edit menu. You may also use this menu to copy the entire form and to cancel all changes you have made since you last saved the active form.
View: You can customize your workspace with the view menu by choosing to hide or display various elements of the user interface.
Tools: Use the options in the tools menu to adjust options and default behavior. This menu is where you declare the active company, set user preferences, and configure a connection to a database.
Reports: The report manager is where you view and print your repair log and other reports. Edit and save the layout of your reports with the grouping, sorting, and filtering capabilities of the grid.
Tree & Grid
The Form Tree displays your available forms so you can quickly navigate to the type of form you wish to create. The grid allows quick access to your previously created forms. You can group, filter, and sort the contents of the grid so the data is arranged in a way that makes sense to you.
Input Panel
This is where you will spend most of your time. The input panel is designed to mimic the appearance of a paper form so you know just where your data will appear even as you enter it. Form information fields are in a block at the top of the panel, allowing you to check your job number and other details no matter how far down the form you are working. The tabbed layout offers you the opportunity to have multiple forms open at once.
Message Viewer
FormPro conveys information, warnings, and errors to you through the message viewer. If you are attempting to perform an action and the program is not responding, it is often beneficial to check the message viewer to see if it is offering a reason or a possible resolution. The message viewer can be accessed through the View menu or by pressing Ctrl+F8.
