FormPro Database Connection

FormPro Database Connection

FormPro requires a connection to a SQL server database to operate. To connect to a database, select Database Setup from the Tools menu on the main toolbar. This will display the database setup dialog. The database setup dialog will also appear on startup if a valid database connection is not detected.

To configure the database connection, first select a SQL Server from those available in the drop-down menu. Second, select a user authentication method. To use the Windows® username and password, select Windows Authentication, otherwise select Username and Password and type in the required credentials. Third, select a specific database from the Databases drop-down box.

Click OK to connect to the database and close the dialog or click Test to determine if a connection has been made. If the attempt to connect has been successful, a message to that effect will appear. Click OK to close the message, and click OK to accept the settings and close the database setup dialog. If the connection attempt has been unsuccessful, an error message will appear in the message viewer. Correct the necessary information and try again, or click Cancel to exit the database setup dialog without connecting to a database.
