CEI Cloud Platform Version 3.0 Updates

CEI Cloud Platform Version 3.0 Updates

CEI, Paulin Research Group, and Finglow’s cloud platforms have been updated, including a new sign-in experience, an updated application portal, and updates to remote printing and file transfers between a local and a cloud device. These updates will go into effect by Monday, March 17, 2025.

For a visual walkthrough of these updates, watch the following video tutorial:

1. New Sign-In Experience

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Requirement

  • Users must sign in with their account credentials.

  • A multi-factor challenge is required for authentication (example: applying a one-time code from Microsoft's Authenticator app).

Accessing the Application Portal

  • Once signed in, all available cloud applications are displayed on this new platform.

  • The first-time application launch requires reauthentication to start the cloud instance.

  • After the initial authentication, additional applications can be launched without signing in again.

2. Updated Remote Printing Process

Simplified Printing from the Cloud

  • With this new update, there is no need to map printers to the cloud instance.

  • The print job is processed through the browser and connects all available local printers on your device.

3. Enhanced File Upload and Download

Improved File Transfer Experience

  • Files can be uploaded from a local device and accessed within the cloud environment.

  • Uploaded files must be placed in the appropriate network directory for use in applications.

  • Downloaded files are saved to a designated cloud directory before being transferred to the local device.

  • Browser settings allow users to streamline the download process by automatically saving files.

4. Managing Multiple Applications

Opening Multiple Applications in the Same Session

  • Users can run multiple cloud applications simultaneously within the same session.

  • Opened applications are accessible from the toolbar for quick navigation.

  • The application portal allows launching additional applications without signing in again.

  • Windows users can leverage full-screen mode and keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Alt + Tab) for seamless switching between applications.
