Welder Information

Select a welder from the Welder Browser to automatically complete these fields. The welder information can not be edited on a WPQ directly (for instance correcting a misspelled last name). The welder must be edited to accomplish this for all associated WPQs. Note that the "Location" and "Foreman" fields are informational only and are not printed on the WPQ.

Supported by

Select a WPS or PQR to automatically complete related fields in the WPQ, or select a WPQ Template to transfer the fields from the template into the WPQ. A PQR will typically complete all fields on a WPQ in one step including optionally assigning a welder to the WPQ.

WPQ Information

WPS number: The Welding Procedure Specification used to guide this welder test. Select a WPS under the Supported by section or enter the data manually.

Notes, if a WPS is selected the WPS # field will be locked to that WPS # for the life of this WPQ.

Rev. number: The revision of the WPS that is being used to guide the welder test.

Code year: Select the Edition/Addenda of the ASME Section IX Code that you wish to use for code assistance on the WPQ.

Test date: The date of the test may be manually entered or selected from the calendar. As witha  PQR it is typically the date the last test needed to complete the WPQ is performed.

WPQ No: Differentiates between separate WPQs based on the same WPS.

Weld type: Select the type of weld.

System of units: Select either English or metric units.

Product Form: Select the form of the material that was welded.

CRN (Canadian Registration Number): This field is visible only if enabled in settings. It allows the CRN to be recorded on documents.

Process Information

No. processes: The number of processes will be automatically completed based on the WPS used to create the WPQ. If Stud weld is selected in "Weld Type," only one process will be allowed.

Process: The processes will be automatically completed based on the WPS used to create the WPQ. The first process is for the root pass or passes, the second is for the intermediate or cover passes, and subsequent processes are for tertiary passes. If Stud weld is selected in "Weld Type," only one process type of STUD will be allowed in this field. If the number of processes is reduced after data has been entered, data for the extra processes will be lost.
