Joint Type and Base Material Information
Types of joints qualified: Lists the type of welds the welder is qualified to perform based on AWS D 1.1. A common value would be "All applicable fillets welds (except T-, Y-, K-connection fillet welds)".
Base metals welded: Enter the base material used in the test. You can fill these in manually by typing in the desired material or by using the base materials database by clicking the material browser button to the right of the field. When a material is first selected using the material browser, both the first and second base materials are automatically set to the choice. However, another material may then be selected or entered independently for either field.
Welding Variables
The Range Qualified column will display the values qualified to according to the AWS Code.
Pipe Diameter groove (in.) - Enter the pipe diameter of the test coupon being welded.
Pipe Diameter fillet (in.) - Enter the pipe diameter of the test coupon being welded.
Box tube size (in.) - Enter the Box Tube size of the test coupon being welded.
Base metal thickness groove (in.) - Enter the base metal thickness of the test coupon being welded.
Base metal thickness fillet (in.) - Enter the base metal thickness of the test coupon being welded.
Dihedral angle - Enter the Dihedral Angle of the test coupon being welded.
