Detailed Installation Notes

Installing Finglow Software on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems

For complete instructions refer to the Finglow Installation Notes supplied above.

Run: Finglow_Setup.EXE

The installation consists of four parts:

  1. Licence

  2. User Environment Directory/Folder

  3. Application Location

STAND ALONE PC INSTALLATIONS

For standalone PC versions, it is suggested that all three parts be installed in the same recommended folder.

LOCAL AREA NETWORK INSTALLATIONS

Server policies may dictate where various parts of an installation are located.

The licence and the user environment folder are unique and must always be on the server.

Installing one shared copy of the application on the server is the recommended method.

WARNING: where part or all of the installation is to be installed on a file server, to be shared by workstations: consult your IT manager.

WORLD AREA NETWORK INSTALLATIONS

Server policies may dictate where various parts of an installation are located.

The licence and the user environment folder are unique and must always be on the server.

The application should be installed on the C: drive of each workstation.

WARNING: where part or all of the installation is to be installed on a file server, to be shared by workstations: consult your IT manager.

LICENCE ADMINISTRATION

When the application is first launched after a new installation, the default User ID is HIM and the password is TEST.

The Change Licence dialog box will be automatically presented. E-mail the Installation Code at the top of this screen to Finglow.

Finglow will issue by return the corresponding Licence Keys containing the software configuration. Licence Keys can not be given over the phone.

Once a Finglow Licence has been set up it should be used with all future releases. New releases are installed along side existing ones.

The installation program uses the Operating System Registry to record some basic information to simplify adding a new release.
