Release status - November 30, 2022
To access the latest DesignCalcs installation file, click the following link: DesignCalcs Download
During installation, if an issue occurs with theĀ Sentinel Run-Time Environment Installer, cancel the install and go to Installing or Updating the Windows Driver for the Hasp License for steps on how to complete a sentinel hasp installation. Once this is completed, install DesignCalcs again.

New Features
DesignCalcs now exports to AutoCad Inventor. These features will be expanded over the next several releases. This initial release exports cylindrical shells, hemi heads, torishperical heads, conical heads and conical reducers. For more information see Inventor Integration . DC-8828, DC-9118
DesignCalcs now supports lifting lugs on heads. This is currently supported for the following head types: hemispherical, torispherical, ASME F&D, and ellipsoidal. DC-7788
DesignCalcs is rolling out improvements and expansions to the wind and seismic calculations. In this release the seismic inputs for Fa and Fv will now be used in a new way. Previously, these inputs were only used to fill in a gaps in the building codes for the more severe site classes E and F, where the values were not provided. Now the greater of what comes from the table or the user input will be used to determine the seismic loads. To transition to this new use of the input, the values of Fa and Fv for vessels patched from an older version will be set to zero for site classes A, B, C and D, values from an older version will remain for site classes E and F. New vessels will have these values set to zero. Remember the greater of the input or values determined by the tables in the building codes will be used. This affects building codes for 1998 and later. DC-8966
ASME B16.11 2021 changes have now been adopted in the software. For DesignCalcs this specifically affected 9000# socket weld coupling thickness in millimeters. For more information see Pipe Fittings and Long Weld Necks Dimensional Data. DC-9041
Issues Resolved
Multiple liquid inputs for horizontal inputs were potentially resulting in a low liquid weight. The resolution to this issue is conservative. The combination of the greatest density of any entry with the greatest depth of any entry will be used to determine the liquid weight. If you have multiple entries, you may see an increase in the vessel weight for the operating condition calculations. DC-8871
Miscellaneous
The message when closing a leg form, now recommends a NozzlePRO Analysis. Future integrations are planned. DC-9105
A new option under the help menu has been added called License Information. This allow you to see your licenses, their location and expiration date. DC-8906
The manual is no longer installed by the software. It is several years out of date and the online learning management system, Think Tank Academy, and the knowledge base should be used instead. DC-539
