Label for "WPQ No.": Replaces the WPQ No. designation throughout the program with the entered text.

Field value for "Deposited weld metal range qualified": When there is no limit to the welder’s deposited weld metal thickness, the range qualified can be set to display ‘Max to be Welded,’ ‘WPS Limits’ or ‘Unlimited’ on the WPQ.

Treat GMAW and FCAW as the same process for ASME welder qualification: Because of the similarities between the two processes, ASME Section IX allows a welder to be qualified for both GMAW and FCAW processes when they qualify in one of the processes. Some companies prefer to keep the qualifications separate for quality control purposes. Clear this box to require a welder to qualify for each of these processes individually. When checked a welder must have a WPQ for both the FCAW and the GMAW processes for expiration to then be the later of either for both processes. This option is not available for AWS D1.1.

An example for the above:

A welder has a GMAW WPQ with a weld date of 1/1/2017.

That welder also has a FCAW WPQ with a weld date of 1/2/2017.

Assume a 6 month expiration window without the use of qualification (i.e. WPQ document) expiration.

With the box checked the welder expires for both processes on 7/2/2017.

With the box unchecked the welder expires for the GMAW on 7/1/2017 and the FCAW processes on 7/2/2017.
